There is no need to remove a tampon prior to urinating or having a bowel movement. Each female has three separate openings; the urinary, the vaginal and the anal opening. Therefore, a tampon which is placed in the vagina will not affect your using the bathroom. While urinating, the cord may be held to one side so it won't become wet. If it does become damp, however, it can simply be dried with a piece of tissue.
