Every body, and every period, is different. When it comes to period protection, you've got options.

What is a menstrual cup?

Instead of absorbing blood like tampons and pads, a menstrual cup collects it. This means you can use it over and over again. That's good news for your wallet, bathroom trash cans, and the planet!

The Tampax difference

The Tampax Menstrual Cup looks a little different than other menstrual cups. When we designed the TAMPAX Cup, comfort was behind every choice we made. For example, we learned that a few millimeters in width and U-shape make a big difference. And creating a short and rounded stem means you can wear it all day without feeling it.

Made for people with periods by people who get them

Made for people with periods by people who get them.

We get you. And your body. So, when we developed our menstrual cup, we got help from period experts - other people with periods:

  • our female-led research team collaborated with an OB-GYN on design
  • we tested multiple cups with people with periods to understand fit and comfort
  • we developed our own MRI imaging to learn about cup positioning within a body

Don’t just take our word for it

Tampax Menstrual Cup

At Tampax we didn't invent the menstrual cup, we just want to perfect it. We know small details can make a big difference, and comfort motivated every choice we made. Tampax Cup is co-designed with a female OB-GYN to fit more comfortably. The Soft Curve shape provides a snug, soft fit that reduces pressure on your bladder.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long can I wear the Tampax Cup? You can wear a Tampax Cup for up to 12 hours, even overnight. Be sure to only wear during your period and empty and clean your cup at least once every 12 hours. Never share your cup with anyone.
  • How often should I replace my Tampax cup? Inspect your cup regularly for signs of degradation and odor. We suggest replacing your cup every year, but when cared for properly, your Tampax Cup can last for years to come.
  • Which size Tampax Cup is right for me? If you usually use a light, regular or super tampon, we recommend using Tampax Cup Regular Flow. If you use a super plus or ultra-tampon, we recommend you use Tampax Cup Heavy Flow. You can trim the stem of the cup to a length that’s most comfortable for you, just don't do it while wearing the cup.
  • What should I do with the Tampax Cup when I’m not wearing it? Each Tampax Cup comes with a beautiful, hard-shell carrying case to store and protect your cup in between uses. The case is BPA-free and has air holes to ensure no harmful bacteria can grow. It’s important you clean and dry your cup before storing it in its case.
  • What is the Tampax Cup made of? It’s made from 100% medical-grade silicone and free of dyes, perfumes, BPA and made without natural rubber latex.
  • Can I use the Tampax Cup if I have an IUD? If you use an IUD, please consult your gynecologist before using a menstrual cup.
  • Can I have sex while wearing the Tampax Cup? Just like tampons, menstrual cups should not be worn while having sex.
