Tampons absorb menstrual flow inside the vagina and expand as they absorb fluid.
When inserted correctly, a tampon sits comfortably inside your body and helps protect against leaks before period flow leaves the vaginal opening! And Tampax Tampons have a LeakGuard Braid designed for back up leak protection and funnel leaks back into the tampon.
Because a tampon is worn inside your body, you can't see if it's full the same way you can with a pad.
Instead, you learn when to change it by paying attention to your flow and checking for signs that it's time for a fresh tampon.
The absorbent part of the tampon sits inside the vagina and expands as it absorbs menstrual fluid.
This helps protect against leaks while you move through your day!
When a tampon is inserted deep enough-above the nerves in your vagina-you shouldn't feel it!
While you're still learning how often to change your tampon, check every 2-3 hours...
You can check the string; if there's blood on the string, it's time to change!
You can also do a wipe check with toilet paper after using the restroom.
If there's blood on the toilet paper, it may be time to change.
Tampons can be worn for up to 8 hours, but you should change your tampon at least every 4-8 hours.
If you want to use a tampon overnight, insert a new tampon before bed and replace it immediately when you wake up.
If you plan to sleep longer than 8 hours, use a pad instead.
Your flow changes every day during your period, and your tampon can change with it!
If your tampon leaks in just a few hours, try going up an absorbency!
If it feels dry or uncomfortable to remove, try going down an absorbency.
The recommendation is to use the lowest absorbency that meets your flow needs.
How do tampons absorb period blood? The tampon sits inside the vagina and absorbs menstrual flow before it leaves your body.
Can you pee with a tampon in? Yes! A tampon goes into the vaginal opening, while pee comes out of the urethral opening. "Many consumers will hold their string out of the way, others change everytime they use the restroom. It's up you!"
How often should I change a tampon? Change your tampon at least every 4-8 hours, and check every 2-3 hours while you're still learning your flow.
Your flow changes, and your tampon can too!
Tampax helps you find your flow fit so you can feel protected, comfortable, and confident throughout your period!
