A tampon is inserted correctly when tampon is fully inserted inside you, with the string outside your body, and you cannot feel the tampon while moving around.
If you can feel your tampon, it may not be inserted far enough.
That's a common beginner issue and usually gets easier with practice!
Comfort check: When it's in the right spot, you should be able to sit, stand, walk, and move comfortably without feeling poking, pressure, or pain!
How to insert an applicator tampon correctly...Wash your hands before insertion.
Open the wrapper and hold the grip.
While sitting, squatting, or standing, insert the applicator until your fingers reach your body.
Once it is fully in, press the pusher all the way in.
Remove the applicator and dispose of it properly.
Wash your hands again.
When a tampon is inserted correctly, it should feel comfortable!
You shouldn't feel poking, pressure, or pain.
The string should stay outside your body so you can remove the tampon later!
Next time, insert the applicator all the way to the grip and then press the pusher!
If it still doesn't feel right, remove it and try again with a fresh tampon!
While you're still learning how frequently to change, check every 2-3 hours.
Change your tampon at least every 4-8 hours, and never wear one for more than 8 hours.
Should I feel a tampon after inserting it? No. If inserted correctly, you shouldn't feel it.
